Nyanyian bagi anak-anak adalah satu hal yang sangat menyenangkan, baik anak TK ataupun SD. Banyak lagu-lagu anak yang telah dihafal oleh mereka seperti Bintang Kecil, Pelangi-pelangi, Lihat Kebunku dan masih banyak lagi. Namun bagaimana jadinya apabila lagu-lagu tersebut kita terjemahkan ke dalam Bahasa Inggris dan kita nyanyikan kembali di depan kelas, terutama di SD? Tentunya ini menjadi salah satu alternatif supaya proses belajar Bahasa Inggris di SD tidaklah monoton. Mungkin di kalangan guru Bahasa Inggris SD telah terbiasa memberikan nyanyian Bahasa Inggris seperti Are You Sleeping? Mother’s Love, Rainbow, Look at My Garden, Hey Diddle-diddle, If You Are Happy, dan My ABC. Penulis mencoba menerjemahkan beberapa lagu yang cukup populer di kalangan anak-anak ke dalam Bahasa Inggris dengan nada yang tetap sama dengan lagu aslinya. Semoga lagu-lagu di bawah ini dapat dijadikan bahan ajar supaya suasana kelas lebih bersemangat dan menyenangkan. Berikut beberapa lagu tersebut :
